10 Stupidest WWE Main Events

4. Diesel vs. 'King' Mabel (SummerSlam 1995)

There weren't many wrestling fans excited to see the awkward and clumsy 'King' Mabel collide with Diesel in the main event of SummerSlam 1995. The tagline for the show was, 'Face The Heat', but instead it was the WWF who would face the music, after desperately shoehorning the big man into the main event mix. Fans just were not interested. In the penultimate match slot, Shawn Michaels faced Razor Ramon in a rematch from WrestleMania X. At SummerSlam, Razor and HBK once again pieced together one heck of a Ladder Match, one which lives long in the memory. By stark contrast, Mabel and Diesel stumbled around, failing to draw people into their WWF Title contest. Clearly, Vince McMahon wanted to present the WWF Title as superior to the Intercontinental Title, which is why the line up ended up the way it was. This was not the right decision however, Michaels vs. Ramon was a far more deserving main event than the one fans would end up getting. Quickly after SummerSlam, the ill-fitting Mabel was shunted from the headline pack.
