10 Successful Mismatched WWE Tag Teams
2. Owen Hart & Yokozuna
Anyway, back to aesthetics.
From a visual standpoint, Owen Hart and Yokozuna were about as diametrically opposed as two superstars can be. They didn't really possess any similar character traits either, aside from the fact that they were both 'foreign', and it's a stretch to cite that as a reason why the two made sense together.
Nevertheless, the two formed an alliance at WrestleMania XI, when Yokozuna made a surprise return to the company to help Owen capture the Tag Team Championships from The Smoking Gunns.
For a grand total of 175 days, Owen and the Samoan (heh) bulldozed their way through the division. They even scored an upset victory over The Allied Powers (The British Bulldog and Lex Luger) at In Your House 2 before losing them to Diesel and Shawn Michaels, gaining them back the next night, then losing them that same night to The Smoking Gunns.
After losing their straps, Owen joined forces with The British Bulldog, while Yokozuna gained an absurd amount of weight before being released by the company due to his inability to pass a physical. But hey - at least he had a nice run with Owen before he left.
