Jeff Jarrett is one of the most well-known names in American wrestling for two reasons. First, he has worked in several wrestling promotions, including both WWF and WCW. On the other hand, he is also known for founding two wrestling promotions following WWFs purchase of WCW and ECW: TNA and Global Force Wrestling. It would seem that he is determined to make sure the WWE has at least some kind of competition in the United States. That said, his WWF/E career wasnt that bad. He got to work with top stars in Bret Hart, the Undertaker, and D-Generation X, among others. He won the WWF World Tag Team Championship with Owen Hart, and even had his own WrestleMania moment, in successfully defending that title. He also won the WWF Intercontinental Championship six times, which is an impressive accomplishment. Also, he was one of four men to hold the Intercontinental and European Championships simultaneously. However, its outside of the WWE where his career was truly his most successful. He became World Champion in virtually every other wrestling promotion that he entered, from the United States Wrestling Association, to WCW, to smaller promotions like World Wrestling All-Stars and the Continental Wrestling Association. While in WCW, he won their world title four times, and the NWA World Title six times while in TNA. While his success in TNA might be due to his role as a major financial backer, and his success in Tennessee might be due to his connections (his father Jerry had major influence in the territorial days), these arguments dont take away from the fact that Jeff Jarrett was more successful outside of the WWF than in it. At least in other companies he didnt have to act like a country music singer and spell his name all the time.
