5. Gunther

There is certainly a case to be made that the current WWE Intercontinental Champion is the best wrestler in the world right now. Although most GIFs are of ridiculous aerial moves, there is a legitimacy to Gunther's stiff style that just draws people in.

This past week on Monday Night Raw, 'Der Ring General' absolutely annihilated Matt Riddle, and the echo of his chops are probably still ringing in the audiences ears.

It could have been so very different for the big man, as it was widely reported that Vince McMahon had soured on the Austrian this time last year and it was only the former Chairman's sexual misconduct that seemed to offer Gunther another chance. And boy, did he take it.

Closing in on the Honky Tonk Man's record, the former NXT UK Champion has finally been the man to restore legitimacy to the belt, and the prestige of it has never been higher. Whoever dethrones Gunther and takes that belt is a made man.

But he offers so much more. He never misses in the ring, he has a bulletproof gimmick that the fans believe, and he is also responsible for four of the last five WWE matches to garner five stars from Dave Meltzer.

Simply put, Gunther is the biggest asset WWE have between the ropes.
