10 Superstars Who Will Leave WWE In 2017

2. Rhyno

Rhyno is surprisingly doing pretty well for himself as a tag team champion on SmackDown, but most of his career in WWE has been a bit lackluster. When his run with Heath Slater ends, they may not have a lot left going for him. When they lose the belts, there will be the rematches and then maybe a feud between the two partners, but then what?

The company isn’t likely to run a lengthy feel-good story of Rhyno finally living his boyhood dream and becoming WWE Champion. They probably won’t even position him as an Intercontinental title level. He’ll probably end up as a Jack Swagger type veteran, a guy who disappears for no reason on TV, then shows up for no reason and then loses.

This isn’t trying to be a knock on Rhyno, as they company has found a good use for him at this stage in his career. It’s more of a prediction of where WWE will see him over the course of the upcoming year. He’s in a fun mid-card comedy act, and then he can be used to put a couple younger wrestlers on the way out. Considering we never thought we’d see him in a full-time role gain, that’s not too bad at all.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
