10 Superstars Who Will Leave WWE In 2017

6. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler was rumored to be moving into a backstage role just last month, but the company swerved us and had him win the Intercontinental Title, and thus saving his career in the process. And now, that’s over.

What is the long-term plan with Ziggler? There likely is none, but either we watch him in the mid-card for the next few years, or he leaves and then maybe returns down the road in the attempt to earn a bigger payday and higher profile matches. WWE is not going to put him back into the main event anytime soon, and Ziggler feels he deserves better, so maybe it's time the two sides just part ways.

That may actually be in his best interest, as he’d likely earn a lot of money on the independent scene, and then he could pursue his outside ventures like stand-up comedy. In a few years he could potentially be more valuable to WWE, and pick up some bigger matches when they're looking for a boost of star power.

Unless he’s truly passionate about working every day in the mid-card for the rest of his career, and watching other wrestlers pass him by, then he should tell WWE he’s taking some extended time off in 2017.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
