5. Matt Hardy

From the highs of that monster pop at WrestleMania 33 to the lows of teaming with Jason Jordan on Raw. That has been Matt Hardy's 2017, and it won't get any better until WWE either secure the rights to his 'Broken' character or his brother Jeff returns from injury. In November 2017, 'Mania 33 must feel like a lifetime ago to Matt.

A short stab at The Miz and his Intercontinental Title is now over and Matt has slipped back into lower card territory. This was an issue during his previous WWE run; the nostalgic adulation Hardy rightly gets from fans can only take him so far when the writers have nothing other than random matches for him. Matt desperately needs a story.

Teaming with Jordan has been a disaster too. WWE's plan must have been that Matt would help fans accept Kurt Angle's storyline son. Jordan is unpopular, uncool and unwanted in the babyface role though, meaning he has held Matt back more than Hardy enhanced him. It has had the opposite effect to WWE's desires.
