10 Superstars WWE Have Elevated In 2021

8. Xavier Woods

Finally, the WWE seem to have realised that Xavier Woods has all the tools needed to be a top-level superstar.

For too long, Woods has been represented as the third man of the New Day, with the creative focus usually landing on Kofi Kingston and Big E. But over the years, Woods has shown how capable he is in the ring and is one of the most beloved wrestlers both inside and outside of the ring.

It is absolutely criminal that Woods has never held a singles title in his eight years on the main roster. As part of the New Day, he has been part of one of, if not, the greatest tag teams of all time and is an absolute shoo-in for a Hall of Fame induction years down the line. But Woods has never been afforded the same opportunities as his New Day brothers… until 2021.

The obvious place to start is the King Of The Ring, which saw Woods achieve his lifelong dream of taking his place on the throne. If anyone can match King Booker’s absurd commitment to the role, it’s Woods. It’s also worth remembering that Woods scored a clean pin over dominant WWE Champion, Lashley earlier in the year.

Although it didn’t lead to much more than a shock win, it’s clear that 2021 has been the first year that WWE had even dabbled with presenting Woods as a major player in the singles division. Took them long enough!
