10 Superstars WWE Have Elevated In 2021
6. Austin Theory
In 2020, Austin Theory was unexpectedly promoted to the main roster and made little to no impact.
At first, he aligned himself with Zelena Vega and her gaggle of jobbers, before joining Seth Rollins during his preachy gimmick phase. Needless to say, he made little to no impact and he soon found himself off the show and back in NXT.
Again, Theory has never done anything blow away in the ring. Comparisons to Randy Orton are apt, in as much as that he is a handsome young dude, with a methodical, safe style. But it works.
Theory's time alongside the Gargano's as part of 'The Way' showed a more charismatic side to the twenty-four-year-old, and his shock inclusion in the draft caught many by surprise. Even more surprising, is that the WWE have done a pretty decent job in the weeks since.
A guy as good looking as Theory will always play a cocky heel so well, and his lack of respect for the older stars ties in nicely with his arrogant want to take a selfie with them once he has taken them out. One only needs to look at how poorly Karrion Kross was booked to see that they are getting Theory right.
Compared to last year, Theory now feels like a good fit for the main roster.
