10 Surprises WWE Could Pull At Extreme Rules 2018

3. Kane Turns On Bryan

There's a chance that the Team Hell No reunion was only ever put together to engineer a Kane vs. Daniel Bryan feud. This would be a shame, as the last thing fans want is another feud with another plodding giant following the Big Cass debacle, but since when did that ever influence the company's booking decisions?

Doing this at Extreme Rules would be easy. Hell No could lose to the Bludgeon Brothers, with Bryan taking the pinfall (either via Miz interference or otherwise). This could prompt a flip-out from Kane, who would then Chokeslam his (former) partner to hell, setting them on course for SummerSlam.

It's hard to imagine the audience being into this, but WWE love a spot of hot-shotting. It'd be a waste and a shame, and yield a match with a **1/2 ceiling, but this is what the company do. Long-term storytelling is a dying art, and if Bryan is otherwise without a program for SummerSlam, this would be a nice, easy option.

Here's hoping the duo emerge from Extreme Rules intact, because the next few weeks are going to be grim if they don't.
