10 Tag Team Wrestlers Who Left Their Partner For Better Things

3. Edge

Tag Team: Edge & Christian This entry is perhaps a bit unfair on Christian, who has been very successful as an individual competitor. However the harsh reality remains that Captain Charisma has not held eleven major title belts or closed the show at WrestleMania. Christian has held the World Heavyweight Championship twice though and consequently boasts a career that most will truly envy. Therefore, Christian probably won€™t feel too concerned about not quite reaching the heights of his tag team partner. Edge & Christian were dominant at a time when the tag team division was extremely exciting and full of competition. Their goofy antics combined with their undeniable wrestling ability made them a highly entertaining double act; they would often make fun of rival tag teams or the local city€™s sporting failures with parody €˜5 second poses€™. Within that era, the pair held the tag titles an impressive seven times. The duo had a brief feud in 2001, which often happens when a tag team go their separate ways. The rivalry was built around the Intercontinental title and featured some great matches; most notably a ladder match at the No Mercy PPV. Overall Edge won thirty one titles within his WWE career, whilst Christian has notched up twenty championships. As stated previously, they both did fine.
