Current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito may have finally found a formula that works, reaching the top of New Japan Pro Wrestling as the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, but it didn't happen overnight. Not only did Naito spend years trying - and failing - to get over as a babyface, but he also was tied to one of the company's worst talents for a long time.

Even though New Japan is home to some of the world's greatest wrestlers, the company is loyal to dojo graduates who aren't as skilled as Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada. That's why Captain New Japan has been employed for so long, and that's why Yujiro Takahashi continues to maintain a decent position in the promotion.

From 2008 to 2011, Naito and Takahashi teamed up as "No Limit," and while the tandem did achieve title success (No Limit is actually the only team in New Japan history to win both the IWGP Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles), it was clear that Naito was the one with the talent. While he competed as an exciting high-flyer, Takahashi's matches were (and are) filled with clumsy brawling. It was only after the team split that Naito was able to take a step toward stardom.
