10 Tag Teams WWE Split Up For Absolutely No Reason
9. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
Coming together in 2005, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch worked a tough-as-boots cowboy style gimmick. There was something decidedly old school about the team, and they were a fine heel addition to the duos ranks. Mere months after their Raw debut however, Cade and Murdoch went their separate ways. This was explained by Murdoch during a promo, when he said that he wanted to become a singles star and chase the WWE Intercontinental Title. The company didn't even give him the chance to say this on the actual show itself, instead airing the split on the old 'Unlimited' online show that aired throughout ad breaks. It was clumsily handled, and few fans even knew the duo had parted ways. Making things even more confusing, WWE continued to portray them as friends on television. Eventually, Cade and Murdoch just started teaming together again, only splitting properly in the Spring months of 2008. That second split wasn't successful either, and while there was at least an angle booked properly showing the dissension between them, the question of why WWE split them mere months into their run is baffling.
