10 Tag Teams WWE Split Up For Absolutely No Reason
8. The Colón Brothers
Generally speaking, most agree that Carlito should have went further in WWE. He had a decent level of charisma and was clearly accomplished inside the ring. During an episode of his podcast, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair remarked that he felt Carlito hadn't lived up to his potential. In 2008, WWE agreed, and they decided to place him in a team with his real-life brother. Known collectively as The Colóns, Carlito and Primo captured the WWE Tag Team Titles from Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder in late 2008. Some likened them to Los Guerreros, a team formed years earlier by Eddie and Chavo Guerrero. There was certainly a similar feel to the group, but they wouldn't be given enough time to really establish themselves with the fans. Upon being drafted to Raw, the team split out of nowhere in July. After losing the tag titles and a few other matches since the turn of the year, Carlito turned heel on Primo and attacked him. There wasn't even a proper feud going forward, Primo simply pinned Carlito in a six-man tag bout and the pair moved on. Neither was particularly successful afterwards, making the whole exercise pointless.
