Dynamite Kid is regarded as an in-ring pioneer, somebody whose ability was so ahead of its time and technically superb, it inspired a whole generation of future wrestlers (including the notorious Chris Benoit). However, he was also one of the most despised and feared locker room figures in wrestling history, the subject of countless tales of violence, bullying and intimidation throughout his career. Regarded by many as an incredibly cruel man, he even regularly injected his own cousin - Davey Boy Smith - with milk, the latter believing it to be anabolic steroids. His most infamous beef was with Jacques Rougeau, whom he attacked from behind after increasing tension over the previous weeks. Jacques enlisted his brother's help and swore vengeance, training himself to punch properly (he has since admitted he was no fighter, and easily lost the initial confrontation). At the insistence of his father, Rougeau held a roll of nickels in his fist as he finally swung for Dynamite Kid, knocking out four of his teeth in the process.
