10 Talented Wrestlers Let Down By Lame Gimmicks

9. Barry Darsow (The Repo Man)

Demolition weren't solely a success because of their Mad Max-inspired outfits, striking face paint or kick-a** entrance music; the tag-team excelled because both Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow were gifted in-ring performers.

Fundamentally more sound that The Road Warriors (a team Ax and Smash were often compared to) once the bell rang, Demolition are rightly considered one of WWE's greatest ever duos.

Sadly, the fun stopped for Darsow once Eadie retired and his subsequent 'New' Demolition with Crush failed to elicit the same response as the original; up next for Darsow was a series of horrendous gimmicks in both the WWF and WCW that ended his career on a sour note.

Repackaged as the sneaky Repo Man in 1991, the remodelled Darsow was a sneaky thief who repossessed items from other wrestlers; similar to the IRS character introduced around the same time, the cartoon-like Repo Man just didn't click with fans.

Later, WCW's brain farts for Darsow included The Blacktop Bully (a more traditional heel) and 'Mr. Hole In One'. Unsurprisingly, a golfing gimmick failed to register when cooler villains like the nWo were all over television.
