4. Marlena/Terri Runnels
Runnels began her WWE career as the mysterious cigar smoking Marlena managing her real life husband Goldust . WWE believed that the more grounded character of Marlena would add another layer to the bizarre Goldust but a lack of chemistry and direction meant that very little came from their pairing. There was an angle in place where Brian Pillman was poised to steal Marlena from Goldust culminating in an on screen wedding but Pillman sadly died shortly after planting the seeds of the story.
Terri would move on to manage The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian with the teams feuding over her "services". With no real success or history to her name, WWE focused more on her boobs being the prize/prizes the men were fighting over.
Runnels was then put in to angles with Val Venis, D'lo Brown (who she convinced to become a client after a faked abortion storyline... yes) and Shawn Stasiak in his MEAT persona. She would eventually finish her managerial career with short stints with Perry Saturn (where she was replaced with a mop), and Raven. Every pairing after Goldust seemed erratic and ill-fitting as if WWE didn't know what to do with her, which is a shame as she clearly put a lot of effort into every situation she was put into. Eventually she was given the role of backstage interviewer on the RAW brand before her release.
