10 Terrible Wrestling Matches You MUST Watch!

8. Goldberg vs. The Fiend (WWE Super ShowDown 2020)

One of the last major matches to conjure an impotent trickle of #CancelWWENetwork tweets prior to the Peacock migration, this Saudi Arabian main event likely registered as one of two things, depending on your demeanour.

1. The abominable burial of a unique, creative character and its enlightened creator.

2. A hoot.

It was a typical Goldberg in that it cut straight to the signature moves, bombast, and particularly the no-sells. Big Bill wouldn't give Bray Wyatt's wackiest creation an inch here. Fear, unease, and dread didn't register for the fiftysomething. Where Seth Rollins once cowered in a corner at the mere sight of The Fiend, Goldberg blew him off. This culminated in the new Universal Champion completely blanking Bray spookily popping to his feet afterwards. As The Fiend stared Goldberg down, attempting to conjure more horror movie imagery, Bill refused to even turn around, leaving Michael Cole scrambling for a cover-up.

"You have to wonder, does he sense The Fiend?!" asked WWE's lead announcer, cementing the bout as slapstick.

That Bray may or may not have sandbagged Goldberg on a match-ending move closer to a garden-variety suplex than the intended Jackhammer only makes it more absurd. The Fiend, whose no-selling ruined every move in Seth Rollins' arsenal four months prior, wore a boo-boo face not even his mask could hide.
