10 Things CM Punk Revealed In Colt Cabana Interview Part 2
8. He May Have Taken A Veiled Shot At Chris Jericho
While discussing the chant situation and whether or not the fans should do it in AJ's matches, he may have also taken taken the opportunity to throw a shot at one of his former colleagues. When asking fans not to chant his name at his friends and the wrestlers who are busting their *ss, he suggests the fans only chant it at "the guys that f*cking suck and wear lifts in their boots". There seems to be some tension developing between Punk and Jericho over this whole situation, with Punk implying that Chris only wanted to talk to him because he had an agenda, and it's something Colt had made a joke about on Twitter. Jericho used his own podcast to respond to Punk's comments and state his position. He said he made several attempts to get CM on his show before he ever left the WWE but that Punk turned it down because he had nothing positive to say. He said he considered he and Punk to be close friends, and that after the walkout he never asked him to be on his podcast or about his leaving WWE at all. The significance of Punk's statement is that it's a pretty well known fact that Chris Jericho wears lifts in his wrestling boots. There may be other guys in the company who do, but the timing is a little too convenient for that to have been anything other than a shot at the guy who just spent a large portion of his own podcast supporting him and putting him over.
