6. Wrestling Itself Was No Longer Fun
With most guys who walk away, while they may be glad to be free of the grind of the road, the politics and the demands on the body, they almost unanimously agree that they miss being in the ring. For CM Punk that's not the case, as he says that's how he knew he needed to leave. He talks about being in the ring, in pain and not enjoying himself and questioning what he was doing with his life. These guys put their bodies on the line night in and night out for the love of the business, and when that love is no longer there, it's hard to imagine how anyone could find any motivation to stick around beyond the financial incentives. And for someone who apparently lives as frugally as CM Punk, the money wasn't enough to keep him going. He lost the love and it was time to walk away.
