Wrestling is full of common misconceptions and ideologies that simply are not true. Fans can believe what they read on way too many occasions - and a popular fact about Sting's career just doesn't sit right. The WWE (and Sting himself) like to push it that they've never actually worked together - but those who know their WCW history will be able to debunk that myth quite quickly. Cast your minds back to the final ever edition of Nitro, which took place on March 26th, 2001. Now have a quick Internet search and find out when the WWE's deal to purchase WCW was completed. Found it yet? Nope? It was on March 23rd, 2001. That means that every single WCW employee worked for the WWE on at least one occasion - and that includes Sting. The show was entirely produced by the WWE - including some heavy segments involving the McMahon family. But the main event was between Sting and Ric Flair, meaning the Stinger wrestled for the WWE. He even cut a promo during that show, something that will have no doubt been organised and written for him by WWE scriptwriters. In some ways, one of the best reasons for Sting signing with the WWE is so we can finally put that horrific myth to bed that he never worked with WWE. He did.
