10 Things You Didn't Know About Sting

4. He Used To Team With The Ultimate Warrior

It's common for wrestlers to cross paths across various independent promotions at the beginning of their careers; think Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in Ring of Honour, for example. There are plenty more to choose from of course, but you probably didn't know that Sting teamed up with one of the most iconic wrestlers of all-time: The Ultimate Warrior. It was way back in 1985, in the Continental Wrestling Association. Back then, Sting was actually known as Flash, and he was placed alongside Jim "Justice" Hellwig as a team called Power Team USA - the kind of team you feel Zeb Colter would have been perfect managing. But they were a bit of a disaster, so were quickly repackaged into a heel team known as The Blade Runners. But again they would be pretty uneventful, and would switch promotions to wrestle for the Universal Wrestling Federation under the same name. Eventually, Hellwig would leave to embark on a new journey with the WWE as The Ultimate Warrior, leaving Sting scratching around for a partner and a direction until his eventual move to NWA in 1987. But just like many wrestlers before (and after) them both, Sting and Warrior started out very much on the same page, before embarking on very, very different career paths.
