5. The Brawl For All Was Supposed To Push Dr. Death

The Brawl for All was an ill-conceived concept that was even worse in execution, but at least it was supposed to lead to something. Jim Ross has stated that the purpose of the Brawl For All was to push Dr. Death Steve Williams. Williams was supposedly one of the best shoot fighters in the locker room, and it was decided that Williams would enter the tournament, win, and get pushed to the moon as a legitimate fighter. There was only one problem. Because the fights were shoots rather than worked, scripted matches, there was a possibility that Williams could lose€and lose he did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzMVs3baUrQ After disposing of Quebecer Pierre in the first round, Williams faced Bart Gunn. Bart had a fighting background as well, and knocked Williams out cold with a left hook. Gunn would go on to win the tournament, and ended up getting the push that was meant for Williams. The push didn€™t go far, because Bart was stupidly booked in a boxing match against a legitimate boxer, Butterbean, who knocked him out cold at Wrestlemania 15. So much for that.
