10 Things Everybody Gets Wrong About Modern WWE

2. Part-Timers Shouldn't Be Champions

Brock Lesnar is WWE's best Universal Champion to date, and his reduced schedule is a huge part of this.

While many fans decry 'The Beast' for his lack of appearances, his schedule prevents burnout, keeps him special, and maintains his superstar aura. Everything him and Paul Heyman do feels important as a direct result of this. If they were around more often, that unique feeling would be lost, and Lesnar would feel like just another guy.

He is perhaps the most justifiable part-time champion in history, but his critics remain. Their mindset is that the company's top prizes should belong to those who grind themselves to dust on the road every single week, not those who pick and choose when they show up, but this is short-sighted.

It sounds grim, but WWE will never be a meritocracy. Stars like Brock Lesnar draw money: hard working upper-midcarders do not. WWE are always going to push part-timers into the spotlight, because nobody else brings the same level of allure.

This speaks volumes of WWE's inability to create new stars comparable the Lesnars and Goldbergs of the world, but regardless, pushing these guys is an absolute necessity.
