Vince Russo gets it rough from all corners of the wrestling world, and perhaps rightly so. Some of the utter drivel he's responsible for (particularly in WCW and TNA) is legendary now, and there doesn't seem to be a place for ol' Vinnie Ru in pro wrestling 2K20. Does that mean everything he touched was awful?

Nope.

Some like to pretend that Russo was a cancer TNA just couldn't get rid of. 'He was full of bad ideas', they'll cry, sometimes in the same breath as talking about some of the high points. Yes, there were high points. The Main Event Mafia, for one, was a terrific snapshot of wrestling royalty that gave Kevin Nash, Sting, Kurt Angle, Booker T and Scott Steiner reborn purpose amongst younger peers.

Despite eventually falling off a cliff when members changed and importance dropped, the MEM should be remembered as one of the best factions of its generation. Russo, who was head writer for TNA at the time, deserves a bit of credit for coming up with it.
