10 Things Everybody Gets Wrong About TNA
4. Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff Ruined The Buzz
Another popular claim is that TNA hit the skids when Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff danced onto the scene in late-2009 and bled their sh*tty, destructive influence all over things for the next few years. Usually, critics of both like to allege that TNA was on a roll before Hogan and Bischoff ruined the buzz.
The truth is that TNA had plateaued by '09. iMPACT! (the promotion's weekly TV show) was hitting around one millions viewers, and there didn't seem to be any room for growth in that number. Maybe, just maybe, TNA realised that they had to try something and see if they could attract a few more fans to the product.
Besides, it's a bit hypocritical for those who'd already been crapping all over TNA's direction for years to point fingers of blame at Hogan and Bischoff. Not everything they ruled over was horrible either. In fact, the rise of Bully Ray and the entire Aces & Eights movement of 2011 was one of the hottest things TNA had ever done.
The company had peaked by the time Hulk and Eric "ruined it".
