10 Things Fan Should Expect From Goldberg's Last WWE Run
6. A New Lease On Brock Lesnar
Speaking of Brock, Goldberg's squash victory at Survivor Series will ultimately, if not immediately, turn out as a good thing for The Beast. Already, it's given Brock a fresh coat of paint and a new lease on his character that will likely carry him through the final year of his current contract (scheduled to end at WrestleMania 34).
Prior to Survivor Series 2016, many fans had been complaining that Lesnar's character was getting stale. The repetitious matches, Suplex City, the video game-like, final boss-type dominance, and the lack of any credible threats to Brock Lesnar had left many fans wanting something different.
At Survivor Series, fans got something different alright.
As with most pro-wrestling finishes, some fans loved it and some fans hated it, but almost all fans were surprised by it. The Beast was finally slayed.
Lesnar's character has been freshened up a bit thanks to the loss with many new questions now needing to be answered. Will Brock come back stronger and more vicious than ever before? Will he continue to fall and suffer additional defeats over the next year? Will he simply ride out his contract and head off into the sunset?
These questions were not there prior to Goldberg's dominant victory and although the victory helped re-establish Goldberg as a monster force, it also helped Brock. And it's likely to continue helping Brock as he heads into the final year of his current WWE deal.
