10 Things John Cena Haters Should Stop Complaining About

4. Super Cena Comebacks

Whilst Cena rarely loses, it's certainly not uncommon to see him take a beating. Back in the days when blading was allowed, John Cena frequently wore the proverbial crimson mask, shedding tonnes of blood to create classic matches with the likes of John Bradshaw Layfield. No matter how much of a beating Cena takes, he always seems to kick out at two and stage a comeback for the victory. It's a regular blueprint for a Cena match and, quite rightly, fans do not like it when it happens. Done wrong, the Cena comeback is lazy booking and simply a way to wriggle out of crafting an interesting story in the ring. However, the underdog story with the babyface in peril is a classic narrative for a wrestling match and John Cena performs it very well. It also doesn't happen nearly as often as people think it does. Whilst his brutal match with Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules 2012 is the benchmark for Cena's frequent comebacks, Cena is just as used to being on top in a bout as he is to being beaten down. In fact, it was the way in which that match panned out that made Lesnar's recent SummerSlam battle with Cena all the more compelling. After every suplex, the comeback seemed all the more likely. But it never came.
