10 Things Lapsed Fans Think During WrestleMania Season

4. What's The Point Of Fast Lane?

Many older fans may observe that the addition of a February pay-per-view doesn't really do much to aid the cause of the Royal Rumble. Traditionally, the then-WWF positioned the Rumble winner as the man who would go on to the main event of WrestleMania. Whilst that's still the case, the idea of what the main event of 'Mania might be can change with the February show. Even when the promotion added a pay-per-view into that particular month back in 1996, there was still a clear emphasis on the importance of winning the Royal Rumble. Admittedly, having Brock Lesnar face Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat match to crown Triple H's 'Mania challenger does have intrigue, but some lapsed fans may see it as an unnecessary nuisance. Older enthusiasts may yearn for the days when the WrestleMania card was known months before the big event, giving time for matches to organically build in the lead up to the show. That doesn't seem to be the case now, there will be 'Mania bouts not announced until the week or so before the pay-per-view.
