9. Getting Started In The Business

The boys tell the story of how, prior to breaking into the wrestling business they were working a manual labor job with their cousin Roman Reigns down in Pensacola, supporting their young families and drinking away their free time. They had both put on weight and were spinning their wheels when out of nowhere their uncle Eki (Umaga) showed up at the bar they were drinking at and gave them an ultimatum: Come with me to Houston to train for wrestling or I'm done with you. Jimmy (Jonathan) and Jey (Joshua) decided they'd leave with their uncle, called and quit their jobs on the spot and took off for Texas in the dead of night. They trained for about a year with Eki and Booker T, having matches with each other here and there. They credit the two of them for teaching them proper technique, since they were familiar with working before this but realized they didn't have proper knowledge of what they were doing.
