10 Things We Learned From The Usos On Talk Is Jericho

4. Their Relationship With Umaga

This is the most deeply personal portion of the interview as the three men discuss their uncle Eki, a man who Chris Jericho was also very close to and had great respect for. The brothers say that growing up, he was more of a father to them than their own and he was the one they'd often turn to for advice. Eki tragically passed away from an overdose, and Jericho asks the guys if they knew of his problems. They confirm that they did, but weren't aware of the extent. Chris tells them that Vince was a huge fan of his and was going to push him all the way, and when Eki passed McMahon was pretty distraught, saying that he really tried to help him get clean but he refused to go to rehab. A lot of their work is a tribute to Eki, from the face paint to the running *ss attack. Jimmy and Jey get emotional recalling their relationship, how they learned of his passing and what their uncle meant to their career and their lives. It was the kind of touching moment we rarely get on these podcasts and really makes you feel for the brothers.
