10 Things Missing From WWE Today

9. Reactive & Passionate Commentary

Well, at least it isn't Josh Matthews calling the end of a match before the ref's hand counts the three.

Still, for many years now the WWE announce teams have faced almost constant criticism and with good reason. Michael Cole, JBL, Jerry Lawler, and others are so far embedded in the WWE machine that it is somewhat difficult to tell the difference between their actual commentary and that they provided for WWE 2K17.

There have been improvements. Mauro Ranallo has been a breath of fresh air, and Corey Graves' work on NXT was excellent. The biggest shining light came in the Cruiserweight Classic, where Ranallo and Daniel Bryan called the action with passion and what felt like a genuine love for the sport.

If WWE allows more of that to shine through on RAW and SmackDown, the product will be all the better for it.
