10 Things You Need To Know About X-Pac

8. "X-Pac Heat" Was Named After Him When A Crowd Is Disinterested

It's hard to know the origins of where "X-Pac Heat" came from, but it's a term that isn't very favorable. The term was created because there was a point in his career after DX had broken up as a group where he really wasn't getting the kind of good reactions from the fans that a wrestler wants. When he was out there as a heel, he was getting booed because the fans were basically saying "we're sick of this guy" and it kept happening to him. Since it wasn't typical heel heat, people started calling it X-Pac Heat. There have been other wrestlers that have had to deal with that. An example is Randy Orton in 2004 after he turned face late in the year. The fans really didn't get behind him like WWE had hoped, so he went back to being a heel. Is "X-Pac Heat" part of the lexicon among wrestlers in the business? Probably not. It's more of an online thing. Waltman's commented on it in the past saying he's not a fan of the term. That's not a surprise at all.
