7. He Was With Shawn Michaels When Shawn Got Beat Up In Syracuse

Shawn Michaels was beat up outside of a nightclub in Syracuse, New York in October 1995. There are several versions of the story, but the one that is the most believable is that Michaels was hitting on a girl that had a boyfriend and the boyfriend as well as his buddies weren't too happy about it. There were anywhere from 4 to 7 guys there while Michaels had Waltman and Davey Boy Smith with him. Since Michaels, Waltman and Smith were all known as guys that partied hard, some people have suggested that Shawn's friends weren't much help to him because they were out of it. Michaels ended up getting beat up legitimately while Waltman and Smith were left alone. It's a story that has been reported numerous times although the details are never that accurate. Maybe Waltman wasn't even there, but he likely was and just couldn't do anything to save his friend from a beating. When WWE addressed the incident on screen, they didn't want to mention that Shawn was with anybody or that the 1-2-3 Kid was there.
