10 Things Pro Wrestling Is Still Terrible At
8. Battle Royals
Seriously, when was the last must-see Battle Royal?
Click back to the previous entry to see the word "formulaic". That sums these multi-person matches up perfectly; in fairness to workers, it must be hard to come up with anything fresh when there are between 19-49 other wrestlers filling up the ring. So, everyone relies on the same old spots or just sorta' stumbles around until they're scheduled for elimination.
This writer would go as far to suggest that everyone scraps Battle Royals completely. The only exception here would be WWE's established Royal Rumble, because that's been a winner since they tweaked the early 20-entrant format to 30, and it's an event fans look forward to every single year.
AEW's Casino variant doesn't get a pass here either. It's a time-waster on pay-per-views, and the kick and punch style of the things don't suit All Elite's roster anyway. For example, why was Rey Fenix in one at All Out? Who thought that fit his style?
