In early 2011, WWE announced that they'd signed sensational luchador Luis Ignacio Urive, better known as Místico, to a contract. Now called "Sin Cara" under WWE's banner, there was a considerable amount of hype for his debut. He'd previously received multiple accolades from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and it looked as if he was primed to usurp Rey Mysterio's spot near the top of the card.

And boy, did he ever botch that...

Almost immediately, Sin Cara became infamous for his constant flubs. Most WWE talents were unfamiliar with his lucha libre style, and his inability to speak English made it near-impossible to call spots with him.

About seven months after debuting, he was suspended for violating the Wellness Policy. Three months after his return, he was sidelined with a knee injury. Follow that with some nothingburger feuds and more injuries, including the time he couldn't tough out a broken finger, and WWE eventually grew tired of Urive's antics and released him from his contract in 2014. The role has since been portrayed by Jorge Arias, formerly known as Hunico.

Urive has since claimed that WWE held him back, but really, it was his own refusal to acclimatise that led to his downfall.
