10 Things That Happened At NXT Live: Newcastle (Australia)

Like his former partner, Wesley Blake, Buddy Murphy has had some trouble finding himself since their split. However, it was beyond obvious that in Australia, Buddy is The Man. The crowd were so behind Buddy it wasn’t funny, and as a result, he showed with confidence why he was the Australian to hold a title in WWE.

The original card for this show had the main event as a tag team match, Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Tye Dillinger, however on the night it became a six-man tag match: Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe and Elias Samson vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger and Buddy Murphy.

Comedy flourished in this match, but not in a bad way, beginning with Elias Samson playing some ACDC on his guitar (concluding hastily with "that song sucks") and Tye Dillinger's "10" thing doing the rounds throughout the match (and the night). Shinsuke Nakamura got the pin for his team, after hitting Bobby Roode with a Kinshasa (following an accidental low-blow by Roode to Samoa Joe). Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura were considerably in the backseat for the majority of this match, coming two nights after their steel cage match in Melbourne, which allowed Buddy and Roode to take leading roles in this match.
