10 Things That Must Be On The AEW Streaming Service

8. Long Form, Sitdown Interviews

All In Cody Rhodes NWA World Champion

WWE has had huge success bringing what was basically 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin’s old podcast format to life as a series of long form interviews on the WWE Network. For such a legendary beer drinking, bird flipping badass, Stone Cold makes a surprisingly avuncular host. Plus, his legendary status actually seems to bestow some shine on those modern stars chosen to sit opposite Austin (as apposed to when DX come back and beat current stars up on Raw).

Of course, these are essentially well curated puff pieces, but you always get an interesting nugget or two from the guests. Besides, after CM Punk’s press conference meltdown, it might be wise to find a way for performers to connect with AEW’s audience that’s a bit less potentially volatile.

AEW have a wealth of potential hosts to chose from, too. They could ask former Broken Skull Sessions guest and fellow podcaster Chris Jericho to bring his own interviewing skills in house. Another option is to turn to under-utilised veterans like Mark Henry or Big Show. They could also look to their authoritative commentary team to lend gravitas to proceedings.

There’s no reason it should be the same guy each time either. Jim Ross has known guys like Chris Jericho and Dustin Rhodes for decades, whereas Excalibur might be a better pick to let The Young Bucks relive their indie days.
