10 Things That Must Happen At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11

7. Kyle O'Reilly Continues To Bloom

NJPW has high hopes for Kyle O'Reilly. The booking of reDRagon over the last couple of years makes this abundantly clear, with the former tag champions being defeated rarely if ever. They have both bulked up somewhat too, with O'Reilly and Fish coming up short in NEVER Openweight Championship challenges against Shibata.

Last year's Wrestle Kingdom saw Jay Lethal and Michael Elgin do battle for the ROH World Championship, an honour that goes to O'Reilly and Adam Cole this year. The former Future Shock partners have fantastic chemistry, and Cole's position in Bullet Club will guarantee a bit more crowd excitement than was afforded to Lethal and Elgin in 2016.

O'Reilly has only just climbed to the top of the ROH mountain, and as such must retain the title here. It would surprise nobody to see The Martial Artist play a prominent singles role in New Japan in 2017.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
