10 Things That Nearly Happened At WWE Survivor Series

8. The 2013 Elimination Tag Match That Never Was

Leading up to the 2013 Survivor Series event, there were all kinds of rumors about a huge elimination tag match that likely would have been the main event of the show. The rumour was that Daniel Bryan would lead a team with Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler (or Goldust) as his partners against Randy Orton and The Shield. They could have also added CM Punk to Bryan's team while Triple H could have been on Orton's. For several weeks, that's what people thought was going to happen. When it came time to book the show, WWE went in a different direction. Bryan teamed with Punk against the Wyatt Family while The Shield were in an elimination tag match (where Roman Reigns was booked strongly as the sole survivor in the match). As for Orton, he defended the WWE Title against Big Show in the main event in a match that was generally considered to be pretty awful with people chanting for Daniel Bryan for the majority of it. The fact that WWE thought it was a good idea to book Big Show as the babyface challenger to the WWE Title on a major card in 2013 was laughable. That elimination tag match would have been amazing and it's regrettable that it didn't take place.
