10 Things That Prove 2017 Is WWE's Weirdest Year Ever
4. Bray Wyatt's House Of Horrors
WWE has a long history of weirdness, but has there ever been anything quite as head-scratching as Bray Wyatt's Payback match with Randy Orton, inside House of Horrors?
Mae Young's hand, possibly, and Bossman's Kennel from Hell, at a push. But those examples were at least confined to lowly wrestlers without a serious hope of making it into the main event. The Eater of Worlds, on the other hand, was (and, to some, still is) a top-level star, fresh from fighting for the WWE Title at WrestleMania.
It's not exactly clear who thought this was a good idea (or if they still have a job), particularly after how poorly received the bug projections were in the pair's previous match. Our best guess is that they were trying, once again, to capture some of the magic of TNA's Final Deletion from the year before.
They didn't though. It wasn't weird in a good way, but weird in a "how is Bray Wyatt's career ever going to recover from this?" way, and six months on we're still no closer to the answer to that question, either.
