10 Things That Prove 2017 Is WWE's Weirdest Year Ever

5. Shane McMahon Had WrestleMania's Match Of The Night

Who could have possibly predicted that, in 2017, occasional wrestler Shane McMahon would be involved in WrestleMania's best match?

Further still, this was no multi-man match, nor even a Hardcore match (of which he is - or was - one of wrestling's leading exponents); rather, this was a straight singles bout which lasted 20 minutes and bettered anything that came later in the night.

Few show-stealers in WrestleMania history - or wrestling history in general - can claim to have defied expectations so spectacularly; in fact, many were suggesting prior to kick-off that this was a waste of AJ Styles' talents (and if that's true, imagine what he could have done with an opponent of equal standing).

While Shane rolled back the years, it is undoubtedly the Phenomenal One who must take the bulk of the credit, having teased out of his near-50-year-old non-wrestling opponent a match of a quality no-one thought was possible.

Bravo, AJ.
