6. More Focus On The Tag Team Division
Another division that has been neglected as of late is the Tag Team Division, which is sad since the division has been previously responsible for some of NXT’s greatest ever matches. It's not because of a current lack of talent either. Current champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner from Imperium are one of the best tag teams in the world right now and they have proved to be certified show-stealers in the past in both NXT and NXT UK.
Like with the cruiserweight title, the NXT tag team titles have inexplicably been left off of both TakeOver: In Your House and TakeOver XXX, and are currently narratively aimless. The most recent NXT tag title match involving Imperium and The Undisputed Era was completely disrespected due to the Pat McAfee/Adam Cole feud, which perfectly illustrates how little respect the titles and champions are getting from creative.
The division has real potential despite a shaky year or so, with Lorcan and Burch, Breezango, Legado del Fantasma and the Undisputed Era all being enough to establish a competitive, narratively immersive division of wrestlers. After years of the tag teams being the MVP of TakeOver events, it's saddening to see them not being included. Hopefully NXT fixes this going forward.
