5. KUSHIDA Needs To Get A Push

It’s baffling that KUSHIDA, one of the best wrestlers in the world, has been barely featured on NXT TV the past few months. Considering the amount of talent on the roster that could pull off classic bouts with the Japanese superstar, it’s just wasting potential at this point, especially with the pandemic freeing up more space on NXT. It's crazy to think that he's being passed over for wrestlers like Cameron Grimes, who've been consistently portrayed as jobbers.

As one of the best cruiserweights of the last decade, he would be one of Santos Escobar’s greatest foes in his title reign, being a perfect opponent to get the most out of the heel champion. But more interesting, due to the former NJPW star's open desire for larger opponents, is a potential rivalry with Damian Priest. The significant size difference would clash well; Priest's hoss power and striking abilities versus KUSHIDA's quickness and submission oriented offence would be a match of the night on any card if given enough time.

KUSHIDA has already had numerous five star matches in his career and deserves the platform on Wednesday nights to have even more, for his sake and for NXT going forward.
