Generally, there was an awful lot of discontent in WWE's locker rooms when Vinnie Mac was at the tail-end of his decades-long run as chief overseer. Wrestlers hoping for an opportunity knew they'd have an increasingly shorter window of time to make it work before creative cancelled their push, for example.

Guys like Mustafa Ali were rather vocal about expressing unhappiness, and it's difficult to see him being chuffed that McMahon is back in the mix so soon. Ali won't be alone though - some other WWE stars may throw up their hands in disappointment, say 'f*ck this' and request releases.

Or, maybe Vince will beat them to the punch and brandish his red pen.

Mass releases could be on the horizon for WWE again if McMahon plans to trim the fat before engineering a company sale. One thing seems almost certain: At least a few handfuls of stars will depart the promotion post-WrestleMania 39.
