10 Things That Would Happen If Vince Russo Returned To WWE Today

3. Vince Vs Vince

One of the commonly held assumptions as to why Vince Russo's creative vision helped guide WWE to the promised land without spectacularly tanking the company as it did WCW is because of the protective, almost paternal steady hand that Vince McMahon kept on the wheel.

It was felt that without McMahon as a filter for some of his lamer concepts, Russo was too loose a cannon in WCW. For every one half-decent idea that made air, there'd be six that wouldn't have been given the time of day on even the least classy 1999 edition of Monday Night Raw.

It's (somewhat understandably) a chip on Russo's shoulder that his contributions have been diluted by the involvement of the WWE doyen over the years, but it's not particularly an issue that most wrestling fans would give a toss about. Not like that would stop him wanting to book what he probably believes is the ultimate battle for the soul of the 'Attitude Era'.

He loves a good fight between authority figures as it is, but the prospect of booking himself in a SHOOT (read: worked) fight with the WWE kingpin would give Russo the chance to show that he was the more influential Vince all along.
