10 Things That Would Happen If WWE Buys TNA

2. Ring Of Honor Will Become The Number Two Promotion

There’s an argument to be made that Ring of Honor are already America’s number two promotion, but they’re still behind TNA in terms of all-round visibility. TNA ceasing to exist would immediately elevate ROH to this position, however, and the decreased competition would offer unparalleled opportunities for growth.

It’s unlikely that another company will ever provide true competition for WWE ever again, but ROH, more than anyone else, would benefit from TNA’s death. They’d become the natural choice for any fan looking for an alternative to WWE, and wrestlers like Gail Kim, Drew Galloway, and EC3 would be an immediate boost to their roster.

ROH are no-longer the “super indy” of old: they’re a highly-professional outfit with genuine mainstream potential. Their production values have soared in recent years, and while the product isn’t as visceral and flashy as it was during the company’s heyday, they have much to hang their hat on. The likes of Adam Cole, Jay Lethal, and the Briscoes help comprise one of the most talented rosters in the business, and with guys like Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll on the way, things are only going to improve.

ROH haven’t had a flawless 2016 and their over reliance on NJPW stars remains a concern, but their growth potential will increase exponentially with the acquisition.
