It's hard to get excited about the future when you feel that nothing will ever change, and that the game itself is rigged.

The WWE audience is continually adapting on who they will accept as a top wrestler. It used to be that in the vast majority of cases, only huge muscular dudes could be pushed as worthy of a star. Perhaps the rise of UFC has shown us that great fighters come in all shapes and sizes.

Since 2012, we’ve seen Daniel Bryan become a superstar, and Kevin Owens, A.J. Styles and Sami Zayn receive major opportunities in the spotlight as well. In the past, guys like Zack Ryder were overlooked when the crowd went crazy for them. Now WWE Vince McMahon would say that he is listening. Even if it seems to be very selective.

As long as the audience shows their passion for non-traditional wrestlers, the more management will be forced to push them accordingly. They may remain stubborn, but the evidence has shown that fans are slowly winning this war. Vince would likely not phrase it that way, but he would have to tout the success of a plethora of wrestlers, and let us know that in the modern WWE, no one will be held back if they are talented enough.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
