10 Things TNA Wants You To Forget About Kurt Angle

10. He Would Have Gone To UFC

Kurt Angle Skipping Rope With all the headlines of CM Punk headed for the UFC, Bobby Lashley's most recent victory with Bellator and the speculation that Brock Lesnar will soon once again wind up inside the octagon, MMA has never been so prevalent in the world of professional wrestling. This would all be a completely different scene if it wasn't for the decision of one amateur wrestler. Fresh off his gold medal win in 1996, Angle clearly had has choice in the world of wrestling and mixed martial arts. When posed the question on Jim Ross's podcast this summer on whether or not he would take the same career path had he the chance to do it all over again, the answer he gave may surprise you. Kurt said given the choice again, he would have no doubt gone to UFC. This is very astonishing considering the fact that Angle has had one of the most successful pro wrestling careers of all time. According to Angle, had the popularity of UFC been in 1996 what it was in 2003, he would have bypassed the world of professional wrestling and gone straight for the octagon. While it is possible Kurt may have found his way to the wrestling world at some point, had he taken this career path, it is very unlikely he would have ever found his way to TNA.
