Unlike so many other TNA departures over the years, Matt Hardy’s release had nothing to do with money, or wanting to explore other opportunities. He was busted with a DUI. Sadly, this wasn’t his only legal incident in 2011, as he was arrested three times within the span of just one month.

He was caught with being in possession of steroids and drugs. He also made news for wrecking one of his cars by crashing into a tree. His life was quickly spiraling out of control, and it seemed we were about to witness another wrestling tragedy. TNA decided they couldn't take it anymore and let him go.

Thankfully, Matt entered WWE sponsored rehab and has (mostly) cleaned up his act...except for the time that he and his wife Reby were both arrested for assault and battery in early 2014.
